Cake Case Studies
Adams Cakes has designed and created bespoke cakes in pretty much every shape and size you can think of! Adam has worked with some incredible people and brands over the years – here are some examples of his spectacular work.
In 2016, Adam was approached by the Natural History Museum in London with the idea of designing and creating a cake replica of Dippy the Dinosaur. The museum wanted to mark the end of Dippy’s 111-year residency in the main hall to embark on a tour of UK museums. Adam created a 20-inch sugar model of Dippy standing upright and the end result fed over 200 members of staff and press!
To celebrate the launch of a new crisp packet competition, Adams Cakes designed and baked eight different bespoke cakes based on iconic destinations around the world. Each cake featured a famous landmark from the locations such as the Nou Camp stadium in Barcelona and a gondola floating through Venice! Lucky winners got the chance to visit each destination. The designed cakes were sent to PR offices across London to promote the competition.
DJ, producer and songwriter Mark Ronson celebrated his 40th birthday at the famous Soho Farmhouse in Oxfordshire. Mark Ronson’s PA reached out directly to Adam after coming across his work on Instagram to design [as repeats create on next line] a bespoke cake for his party. Adam came up with the idea of creating a giant cassette tape that replicated the party invitation. The final masterpiece measured 4 ft wide and 3 ft high – that’s a lot of delicious cake!
In 2019, author and artist Charlie Mackesy released his now bestselling book The Boy, the Mole, the Fox and the Horse with publishers Penguin Random House. To celebrate one million copies being sold, Penguin asked Adams Cakes to create a cake for Charlie. The cake was made to the exact original book front cover design and hand delivered to the author’s farmhouse in Suffolk.
